Pipe Stress Analysis

Pipe stress analysis is the study of the effects of forces, moments, and thermal changes on a piping system. We are a team of highly qualified and experienced professionals having expertise to carry out the  analysis done to ensure that the piping system can withstand the loads and stresses it will be subjected to during operation, and that it remains safe and reliable throughout its lifetime.

The analysis involves evaluating the forces and moments that are applied to the pipe, including thermal expansion and contraction, weight, pressure, and external loads.  At CDS we use a number of different methods that can be used to perform pipe stress analysis, including hand calculations, computer modeling, and finite element analysis (FEA).

  • Caesar II thermal, flexibility and dynamic pipe stress analysis
  • Seismic analysis for British Columbia CRN registration
  • Water hammer, flow induced vibration & integrity review
  • Fitness For Service using API 579
  • Layout design, hanger, guide, anchor and expansion joint location and specification
  • Finite Element Analysis at PVEng

We use FEA to design and validate fittings and vessels that can not be designed by rule-based codes like VIII-1 or B31.3. We are experts in the specialized field of pressure equipment design by FEA to validate ASME Sec-VIII Div-2 methods.

  • Solid Works Simulation and Abacus software.
  • Pressure and thermal stress analysis
  • Permissible service life (fatigue life)
  • Wind and seismic analysis
  • Leg, saddle and clip design
  • Frequency and vibration analysis
  • Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
  • Integrated design, review and registration services

Extensive knowledge of registration requirements, including what needs registering and what is exempt province by province

  • We work to many ASME codes Sec- VIII Div-1, Sec – VIII Div -2, I, IV, B31.1, B31.3, B31.5 and others
  • Design validation by burst test to many code.
  • Pressure vessel design to ASME Sec –  VIII Div – 1 and Sec – VIII Div – 2
  • Hot water heaters and boilers to ASME I and IV
  • Piping to B31.1, B31.3, B31.5 and others
  • Burst testing to multiple codes
  • We use Compress, PV Elite, Design Calcs, Nozzle Pro and our own in-house software.

Software used:

Software for pipe stress analysis we use  is CAESAR II.

The results of pipe stress analysis are critical for the design, construction, and maintenance of piping systems in a wide range of industries, including petrochemicals, power generation, and process industries.

Structural Analysis

Chemdesign Services team expertise offers proficient analysis of the impact of external focus on static structures, such as construction components, machine components, and more.

Structural analysis is the process of analyzing and designing structures to ensure that they can withstand the forces and loads that they are likely to be subjected to during their lifetime. This analysis is used to determine the structural integrity, stability, and safety of a wide range of structures, including buildings, bridges, towers, and offshore platforms.

Chemdesign Services analyze and evaluate the strength and stiffness of the structure, as well as its response to various types of loads, including dead loads (the weight of the structure itself), live loads (the weight of people, furniture, and other objects), wind loads, seismic loads, and thermal loads. Our goal is to ensure that the structure can safely withstand these loads without deforming or failing.

Our structural and stress analysis specialists help simulate the movement of non-stationary objects in vibration analyses, lifting analyses, and other services. With our technology and experience in structural stress analysis, we quantify and further rectify failures in the structure of components that do not meet the proposed design plan, which could result from improper use of materials or even flaws in the manufacturing process.

Software used;

In-service analysis, Pre-service analysis (lifting & transportation) using STAAD.Pro

2D Cad Services

2D CAD (Computer-Aided Design) services are used to create detailed technical drawings and plans for a wide range of industries, including architecture, engineering, and manufacturing. Our expert engineers create a variety of technical drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and details. They are also used to create shop drawings, which provide detailed instructions for the fabrication and assembly of components used in manufacturing and construction.

With a proven CAD drafting & Chemdesign services approach, our team of well versed qualified engineers and drafters deliver highest quality, scheduling and estimation of project requirements.

We offer on site aligned CAD drafting services and CAD-drawing services with a combination of skilled, qualified, and experienced CAD professionals equipped with the latest tools.
